An opportunity has arisen for a Project Controller to work with our prestigious client BAE
Project Controller/Business Support required to work as part of the Business Development/Estimating team for the Test and Evaluation Shared Service. Typically, the role will require you to plan and launch an estimate activity onto all stakeholders and then collate and write front end proposal once all inputs have been received.
Your main responsibilities as a Project Controller may involve:
Providing project control support to the T&E CAM and Operation's Manager
Managing the estimating process from RFQ through to Contract award.
Ensuring preparation of realistic plans and schedules, which reflect a robust understanding of dependencies and execution logic
Ensuring and enacting the Change Control process.
Managing project change through the formal Baseline Change Process
Project Control Skills:
Knowledge and ideally experience of:-
Understanding of R&O management principles combined with practical experience of the process of defining and managing R&Os in a project environment.
Knowledge of Commercial, Finance and Procurement processes and practical experience of their interrelationships with project control processes.
Understand and interpret resourcing data to help inform Operation's Manager
Good people and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work with the Capability teams to extract Project Control data / Information / statuses
Ability to work effectively in a team and complete defined tasks with less need for direction from line management
Ability to put forward own recommendations to influence others
Ability to work autonomously with little support from management, and demonstrate proactive approach to workload
Approaches work with a can-do attitude
Communication skills - Oral: exchange of factual information, responding to enquiries, providing simple explanations, providing advice/discussing ideas on a daily basis. Will need to be able to chair and lead reviews. Written: layouts, non-standard communication, originating reports on a weekly basis; originating materials for others
Performing the job: - the job holder will typically need to have contact and interaction with others in the operational area and within T&E. Contacts are also made with their own work group. Further contacts are made with their own manager.
Your skills and qualifications:
Knowledge of project management / project control processes
Excellent IT skills
The job holder should have awareness of the cost implications of their own actions, and seek to question working practices and processes to ensure maximum efficiency within the role.
Business and Customer Awareness:
The job holder is required to have awareness of internal Customers, UK Customers, internal and external suppliers, UK and International partners, and other divisions of BAE Systems
