(2039) Solutions Engineer - Civil Bias - Water Treatment posted by All jobs by Kintec Recruitment

Initial technical input into projects - including technical assessment of initial options for engineering solutions with a view of determining whether there is a need for further orders for feasibility studies. This will include sourcing the required input data, site visits to check existing assets and summarising the findings.
? Ability to understand Engineering drawings and query their contents. Civil Engineering particularly relevant, but appreciation of geotechnical and hydrogeological issues also helpful.
? Engaging with other departments regarding the projects - particularly permitting, operations, dams and internal strategy.
? Collating and reviewing internal data - particularly compiling tender data/works information
? Appreciation of CDM and H&S legislation sufficient to represent the client's responsibilities on construction projects and site visits (formal CDM responsibilities remain with the Programme Manager).
? Responding to Technical queries - either directly or managing the process of others responding.
? Assessing/Reviewing documentation received from Contractors and consultants on behalf of the end client
? Liaison with Consultants, Contractors, internal departments and EA

Project Management
? Working with framework contracts - Drafting service orders, works orders, compensation events
? Drafting business cases for internal STW approvals
? Reviewing quotes received and arranging for Purchase orders to be raised within STW
? Monitoring and adjusting cost plans
? Monitoring programme and updating all parties on interfaces when things change
? Utilising SAP
? Arranging and facilitating meetings
? Ensuring site visits are appropriately approved and resourced.
? Work closely with the all parties in the project team to ensure the right solution is delivered
? Communicate and quantify any residual risks associated with the preferred solution
? Maintain communication and develop ongoing relationships with stakeholders and customers as required
Qualifications ? Degree qualified (or equivalent) in appropriate technical discipline e.g. Civil Engineering
? Professionally qualified / working towards professional qualification and member of a relevant engineering institution i.e. Chartered Member ICE
? Experience in water industry in the design of wastewater treatment facilities.
? Computer literate with a good understanding of appropriate software packages
? Knowledge and skills in the in the planning, specification, design procurement and commissioning of projects
? Possess sound knowledge of current legislation and able to work in accordancce with QA and H&S procedures.
? Able to integrate well into a team as well as work independently
? Experienced level of decision making and ability to prioritise and manage conflicting demands
? Strong communication skills all levels with the client, suppliers, contractors and design team - both written and oral
? Excellent organisational skills and able to multi-task
? Must be able to plan and prioritise work load effectively
? Excellent client service focus
? Flexible approach to work
